Recipe Name: Parippu Vada or Dal Vada

Ingredients:
- 1 cup tuvar dal
- 1/4 cup udad dal
- 4 dried red chillies
- 4-5 curry leaves
- 1/4 tsp asafoetida
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
- Soak tuvar dal and udad dal in water for about 1 hour.
- Drain the water.
- Add red chillies, curry leaves, asafoetida and salt and grind them to a not-so-fine paste. (It should be a rough and thick batter)
- Shape them flat and round using your palm.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the vadas.
- Serve hot with coconut chutney or pudina chutney.
